Creations and Stuff by Me! - Recycle, reclaim, reuse, restyle and repurpose!

Who am I...well, someone that loves to shop and has a passion for redoing old furniture.  So I thought I would put two passions together, and start making an extra income.  Just like cleaning silver, the beauty comes thru with some extra elbow grease.

The feeling of seeing something old become new again, with hard work, and sometimes just a lick and a polish, gives alot of satisfaction.  Also, it's so sad to see old pieces of furniture being thrown out when they still have alot of life left in them.  I guess I somehow am influenced in my getting older, and my Mother getting older.  Getting left by the wayside cause of a few extra wrinkles, and a few extra pounds.

Furniture has character, personality and some pieces have some quirkiness in it.  So I just want to bring them back to life, with the quirkiness and it all makes it more fun.  There is the recycle, reuse, eco logical factor in all of this too.  Helping the environment is an extra bonus.  Maybe if someone purchases one of my old tables, it's one less piece in the landfill.

The passion grew mostly from having to furnish our B&B.  We have been running it for about 6 yrs now.  The apartment/B&B is located in a 100 yr old building.

After extensive renovation, we didn't have much left over for furnishings, and we just didn't want "new things", so off to garage sales, estate sales, etc.  I found that it was also the challenge of finding the perfect piece to compliment each room, and to go with the "feeling" of the guest rooms, and the overall B&B.  I wanted the B&B to be casual, but elegant and fun at the same time.  That instant "I am at home feeling" was a strong motivator.  I wanted my guests to come in and instantly feel warm, cozy and comfortable.  That is one of the priceless feelings of preloved furnishings.

Recyle, reuse, redesigned chic!

Cheers to you!
